Starbucks switches to free AT&T Wi-Fi

Starbucks Corp. and AT&T Inc. will start offering a mix of free and paid wireless Internet service in most of the international coffee retailer's U.S. shops, beginning this spring.

The move announced Monday ends a six-year partnership T-Mobile, which did not include free Wi-Fi and charged higher fees than AT&T will.

Starbucks said it will give customers who use a Starbucks card two hours of free wireless access per day. More time than that will cost $3.99 for a two-hour session. Monthly memberships will cost $19.99 and include access to any of AT&T's 70,000 hot spots worldwide.

Nearly all of AT&T's broadband Internet customers, about 12 million, will automatically have unlimited free Wi-Fi access at Starbucks, the companies said.

The deal boosts the number of AT&T hotspots in the U.S.

Jordan unfazed by Korea DPR test

Although their fairy tale last-eight finish in England 1966 represented the undoubted high-point of their largely unremarkable football history, Korea DPR remain a mysterious force in Asia that none of their continental rivals dare underestimate. For Jordan, however, who play host to the North Koreans in Amman on 6 February in the sides' opening fixture in the third round of Asian qualifiers for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, their visitors hold no fears. There is a historical basis for such confidence, with memories still fresh of an emphatic 3-0 victory over the Koreans in an AFC Asian Cup qualifier in 2003, a result that proved crucial in helping the Jordanians progress to their first-ever continental finals, in which they reached the quarter-finals. More important to morale than this fond memory, however, has been the series of impressive recent friendly results racked up by Nelo Vingada's team, whose declared target is to qualify for the final stage of Asian qualify by emerging from a section that also includes Korea Republic and Turkmenistan.

ASDA extend Kwik Cricket link

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that ASDA will continue its title sponsorship of Kwik Cricket until September 2009.

ASDA, who initially became an official sponsor in March 2006, will work in partnership with the ECB to develop and implement two major campaigns designed to use ASDA Kwik Cricket as a vehicle to educate children about the benefits of healthy living and also raise the profile of the sport within communities.

A core element of these campaigns will involve the ECB, in conjunction with the 18 first-class counties, and ASDA establishing a series of recreational junior cricket festivals across the country.

This will also include new girl's tournaments aimed at increasing levels of participation.

These festivals will be attended by high-profile professional cricketers who, in addition to passing on coaching tips, will also talk to kids about the benefits of healthy eating.

Heidi, Seal, and Cubs Hop From One Vacation to Another

Heidi Klum, Seal, and the kids looked adorably touristy with all their camera bags and fresh tans arriving at LAX yesterday after another vacation. From slopes to sand, these five have had quite the series of Winter trips so far. Speaking of trips, I thought last night's prom-dress episode of Project Runway was hilarious and awesome. My favorite challenge this season, and maybe in the top few ever. Heidi looked particularly fabulous, to boot. My favorite dress won (yay), while the person who was eliminated definitely messed up. I can't believe we're basically halfway done with the season already. Check out Buzz's recap of last night's high-school madness.
