Martin leads Devils past Hurricanes 6-1

White opened the scoring at 3:08 with a slap shot from the left point. After a stretch of 125 games without a goal, White has produced two in five games.

The Devils, in a reversal of recent form, went up by two goals on Martin's power-play tally at 5:53. In each of the previous three games, New Jersey fell behind 2-0 and went 1-1-1 in that stretch.

After Aucoin scored on a goal-mouth tip at 10:35, Oduya restored the Devils' two-goal advantage with a spectacular tally that capped an end-to-end rush. Picking up the puck behind his own net, Oduya went the length of the ice, eluding five defenders before beating Cam Ward between the pads at 15:47.

It marked the first time the Devils scored three consecutive goals from defensemen since Dec. 31, 1991.

Zubrus netted the Devils' second power-play goal of the period with 2:02 left to give New Jersey a 4-1 advantage.

MLP ‘believes in Malta’s EU membership’

A Labour governments main priority will be to adopt a zero tolerance policy towards corruption, abuse of power and conflict of interest, he said.

Ms Cini referred to a comment Investment, Industry and Information Technology Minister Austin Gatt passed recently about government project overruns and said that this statement not only gave carte blanche to public projects but also to private contractors.

Dr Sant replied with another statement often used by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi nothing happens by coincidence.

As Dr Gonzi likes to say, nothing happens by coincidence these overruns are a clear result of bad planning, he said.

Incompetence is not a coincidence, added Dr Sant.

Ms Cini then turned the subject onto the environment and stated that in the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (Mepa), there is still a culture of people scratching each others backs for favours.

Opinion: Romo is pulling his late fade again

Here's Tony's stop-the-presses moment: He ain't none of them, yet.

It wouldn't be Dallas if there wasn't a soap opera involved, which is why Sunday's playoff game against the Giants is only part of the ongoing Cowboys storyline.

Romo's much-debated weekend trip to Mexico, where he was photographed by paparazzi while frolicking on the beach with girlfriend Jessica Simpson, stole the headlines Monday and Tuesday. Romo, however, remains unfazed by all the controversy surrounding him.

“I know what I needed to get myself in a position to hopefully be successful," Romo said during his normal Wednesday visit with the media. "You know, people asking for tickets, media requests, all these things during the weekend — I was able to put the phone aside and get myself ready and watch some football for two straight days.

That's why McCain is really not the best person to lead the attack. He's too volatile and prickly. If he comes off in the same way he came off in the Reagan Library debate, we're all doomed. So you have to find a VP who can do what McCain can't -- stay cool. Condi has been cool, and about much more pressurized opponents than this.

The conventional wisdom has always been that you pick a VP to clinch an important but "iffy" state. I doubt that works anymore. Besides, Condi would make a worthy president on her own merits, and that's nothing to sneeze at.
