L'Oreal's Fourth International Symposium on Ethnic Hair and Skin ...
CHICAGO, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The fourth international symposium on ethnic hair and skin, a gathering of respected scientific thought leaders, will convene November 9-11, 2007 in Miami, Fla. The symposium is sponsored by the L'Oreal Institute for Ethnic Hair and Skin Research in partnership with Howard University College of Medicine Department of Dermatology. This year's symposium, "Ethnic Hair and Skin: Defining the Research Agenda," will bring together 28 presenters from around the world who will discuss the latest ethnic-specific research with an audience of researchers, dermatologists, other physicians and scientists from academia, industry and private practice. The three day event will be held at the Mandarin Oriental located at 500 Brickell Key Drive in Miami, Fla. Presentations will include the latest findings from basic and clinical research on ethnic hair and skin, and also highlight cosmetic and pharmaceutical product development, safety and efficacy.
Jan Marini Skin Research Suspends Sales of Popular Eyelash Products
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Jan Marini Skin Research, Inc. (JMSR; http://www.janmarini.com) today announced that it will voluntarily suspend the sale of its Age Intervention Eyelash Conditioner and Age Intervention Masses of Lashes Mascara products in the U.S. JMSR cited a patent infringement lawsuit by Allergan Pharmaceutical as one reason for the suspension. "We believe that it makes sense to suspend these products while we strategically review our options," said JMSR President & CEO Jan Marini. "We are assured that the Allergan allegations are unfounded. However, the lawsuit is a major distraction." JMSR reasserted its confidence in the safety profile of the products, and noted that it has conducted numerous and excellent safety studies. The company maintains its legal right to market both products.

Dad did not sleep well the night before so most the time he would pack the car the evening before. Mom would try to let Dad get a couple of hours of sleep before the long drive from Ohio to the Cape. We would normally leave late and drive through the night and get to the Cape around noonish. We tried to stop once and that was a disaster as no one sleep and it was a waste of money. Even into my years of driving, we have done the same. Only now that it is just my wife and I we do try to find a place to stop over night to and from. Personally I would rather get there and have more time for the Cape. But I am learning to take things a little easier now that the kids are not along for the ride. The only night with more anticipation was Christmas Eve, we couldn’t sleep, we didn’t want to sleep, we just wanted to go.
